What to Expect During Online Mediation
All of the parties involved will complete a series of forms that will provide all the parties with rules regarding confidentiality, the binding nature and enforceability of any agreement reached, mediation etiquette, and the scope of the concerns being addressed during the mediation.  The parties will choose whether or not to include online real-time video conferencing into the online experience prior to the actual mediation.  Once the date and time are chosen, Open Dialogue will contact the parties with further details about the technical aspects of the online mediation session. At the beginning of the actual session, the mediator will outline the rules and guidelines to be followed (including online etiquette).  In an American-style of mediation, each party will have the opportunity to express their concerns, ask questions and give responses.  The process will continue as long as necessary until the parties settle their concerns, wish to end the mediation or the mediator no longer feels progress is being made.
